Dr. Kim Ganong

Musicology and Ethnomusicology
Kim E. Ganong is an Oboe and English horn player currently residing in Boise, Idaho. She is also a teacher and scholar who holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Miami in Oboe performance, plus a cognate in Musicology.
Kim can be heard performing around the Treasure Valley in groups including the Boise Philharmonic, Boise Baroque Orchestra, Opera Idaho, and many more! She is also serving as the Secretary-Treasurer of the newly founded AFM Local 423.
Dr. Ganong maintains a successful private studio and is currently accepting new students. She enjoys guest coaching and lecturing at schools in the area, and also travels regularly to present lectures and masterclasses. Recently, she presented a series of classes and lectures at Interlochen Arts Academy.
